National Mock Trial Team: Chester Bedell

Thrilled to finally get to share that I was selected as 1 of 10 students to represent Cooley Law School at the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar‘s prestigious Chester Bedell Mock competition.

Over the past 20 weeks, our dedicated team was immersed in the intricacies of Florida evidentiary rules, courtroom etiquette and procedure. Each Saturday, we gave up our weekends to hone our skills and proudly represent our school.

While our efforts may not have earned us the big trophy, the knowledge I have gained is immeasurable. This experience has been a testament to each of our perseverance to be successful in the field of law.

Having the ability to learn and grow with my teammates and coaches has been an invaluable part of this journey. My passion for oral advocacy has only deepened through this process. The competition reaffirmed my commitment to pursuing a career in this field.

Despite the outcome, the lessons learned are the true victories, and I'm excited for the path that lies ahead. As Coach Justin says, this is just the beginning 🥂
